As the final week of the New York State legislative session approached, Queer Rising held a rally in Union Square telling people to call Governor Cuomo as well as Senate Majority Leader Dean Skelos demanding that Marriage Equality be passed immediately. After the rally, participants marched from Union Square to The Stonewall Inn. Speakers at the rally included: Rev. Pat, Manhattan Community Church; Cathy Marino-Thomas, Board President of MENY; Yetta Kurland, Civil Rights Attorney; Stacy Lentz, Owner of Stonewall Inn; and more.
