March 1, 2011 – Blocking Traffic for Marriage Equality

Description:

A month after Queer Rising sent a letter to Governor Cuomo demanding he add Marriage Equality into the state budget – 8 members of Queer Rising were arrested for shutting down 6th avenue during morning traffic. Thousands of LGBTQ families were suffering without the rights provided by marriage equality – Queer Rising felt it necessary to bring this fight to the heart of New York City.
