Question: Is there a Queer Rising group working in Boston?

I am a proud lesbian in the state of GA who would give anything to be able to legally marry my one true love, the woman who completes me, who I raise my children with. She has no legal rights to the children she has loved and taken care of for years. The south is so self rightous, full of religous bigotry.. My very own brother is a southern baptist preacher who denies me & my children as being even family.. Afraid that my children, who are 7 and 11, will teach his children to be “gay” or it may be contagious.. Sad doesnt begin to cover it. I support your cause so fully, there should be more people out there supporting the cause.. Thank you..

You are organizing very well for our core audience, queers looking for more than acceptance and bourgeoisie equality. Great event. When an event you sponsor for one audience (queers) gets picked up and taken out of context like this has in the Village Voice, please help the person whose agency and voice has been most erased, Erica Díaz, the 22-year-old niece of the Senior Diaz, Rubén Díaz Sr.

The Village Voice has tried to pit:
    - Queer Rising, aka mean, white queers dissing Ruben Diaz, Sr.
Natasha Dillon (right), of Queer Rising, poses with a life-size cut-out of Senior for “RuBen’s Drag Race”

    with

nice Puerto Rican folks who “looove” their grands (by getting them kicked out of the military and denying them marraige):

Please don’t let this debate be about Queer Rising vs. Diaz Sr., please connect with objectified Erica Diaz about what she wants/says, while continuing to resist the Village Voice “COINTELPRO divide and conquer tactics sell papers” shit stirring.

You rock, continue the great work!
